Triggered by Anti-Diet & Intuitive Eating Posts?

You’re angry at yourself. Once again, the pants don’t fit. Once again, the scale is showing a higher number. Once again, you’ll have to restart that diet.

You ignore your hunger by scrolling through social media. You stumble upon an anti-diet post saying that Intuitive Eating is unlearning diet culture and reconnecting with our intuition, hunger and self-trust around food.

They’re just eating donuts all day, you assume.

You then come across a photo of a large woman in just yoga pants and a sports bra lifting 180#s.

How can she do that when she’s fat, you think.

You later see someone who used to coach a fat loss program you follow on and off. But now she’s an anti-diet nutritionist.

What the hell happened to her, you wonder.

Diets tell you to be angry at yourself. But the anti-diet and intuitive eating community gets angry at the diet.

It’s confusing, isn’t it? When diet culture tells you to be mad at yourself for gaining back the weight and falling off-plan. But then there’s a huge anti-diet community comprised of registered dietitians, physicians, therapists, nutritionists and personal trainers who are happier, healthier and more confident than ever before.

And they have the audacity to respect themselves in their current bodies. With no diet to restart.

You feel angry and want to ignore these anti-diet posts. Because otherwise it will make you face the fact that you’ve dedicated an exorbitant amount of time, effort and money obsessing over weight loss. It will make you admit you have nothing to justify all the skipped meals or the many times you didn’t eat what you really wanted—when you wanted it. It will force you to accept that you’ve spent years chasing after the unfulfilled promise that a thinner body will make your life better.

I like that you’re getting angry at the intuitive eaters! To me, it’s a big awesome sign that your confidence in dieting is waning. You’re starting to realize diet culture sucks and has hurt your health way more than helped it. And even if I’m just a teeny-tiny twig contributing to your fire, I’ll play whatever part makes you burn down the weight-loss-focused version of yourself in favor of ditching diet culture and healing.

There’s hope, freedom and a whole community of Intuitive Eaters waiting for you on the other side, friend. Can’t wait for you to join us! Schedule your free 15-minute video consult with me today and let’s get started.
