Setting Weekly Goals: Week 1

Every Sunday night I like to reflect on my past week, and set a new weekly goal for myself.  Part of the reason I do this is to make up for years of “Sunday night dread” and negativity, but I also think it’s an excellent way to create a plan of action and make yourself accountable.

To increase our accountability even more, I am launching a new Weekly Goal campaign, where each week I will set my goal on this blog and ask you to set one as well. We can motivate and inspire each other to challenge ourselves. I am also looking to you guys for new and fun ideas to keep things interesting. In the future, I hope to add giveaways and prizes so be on the lookout!

Your goal should be realistic and obtainable, but still a bit of a challenge. It can be anything related to fitness, nutrition, and/or wellness. Last week my goal was to attend 3 yoga classes and run a total of 8 miles. Unfortunately I ended up with a stomach bug Monday and Tuesday, so I missed 2 of my planned classes and was unable to complete my yoga goal. I did meet my running goal though and made it to 1 yoga class, so the week wasn’t a complete wash. In past weeks I’ve also made goals to try something new (like the time I tried spinning), eat grain-free only, or something geared more towards my emotional wellness, such as to be more positive.

My Week 1 goal (to make up for last week) is once again to attend 3 yoga classes, and to run a total of 8 miles.

Please leave your weekly goal in the comments below. Follow me on Twitter @MsMerOram and look for motivational reminders throughout the week. Best of luck!

Girl!!! You should join a few of us Sweat Pink ladies in the #WeeklyChase! (I’ll tweet you the link…don’t want to plug on your blog!) My goal for the week is to get 4 runs in, one being a 6-miler. 🙂
