Fit Tip Friday: Try Every Class 3 Times

I’m keeping today’s tip short and simple!

Try every fitness class a minimum of 3 times. The first time is to see what the class is all about; the second time is to get over your mental baggage to see what your body can really do; and the third time is to take the mental and physical components and make an educated decision on whether or not the class is for you.

Anything less than 3 tries is cheating yourself.

More often than not, when we gain the courage to try something new, we find ourselves counting down the seconds until either class is over or we’ve dropped dead. We don’t know what to expect, so if you’re like me, you get that moment of panic where you fear the difficulty of the class is going to get even worse and your body is going spontaneously combust.

There’s such a mental battle the first time you take a class since you don’t know what to expect. Don’t let this deter you! Try it a couple more times, maybe even switch teachers (for awhile I didn’t think I liked yoga but turns out I didn’t like the teacher), but don’t fear new movement. New movement is good!

The more you switch up your routine and try new things, the stronger you’ll become—both physically and mentally.

I encourage you to try a new class for the next 3 weeks! What will you try?
